The theater will welcome those who love to listen to our music & those who love to dance to our music.
There will be a Dance Floor supplied by Dance Floor Hire in the middle of the auditorium and the audience will be sitting around tables around the dance floor & not in the usual theater rows. Bella Rosa

Bella Rosa is a Cape Town based Ensemble comprising Flute, Cello, Piano and Soprano. The Ensemble performs multi-genre programmes made up of works originally composed for this combination of instruments, as well as original arrangements of existing repertoire, made especially to suit the skills of the ensemble. St. Andrew’s Concert series saw the birth of this concept in 2014. Presenting traditional repertoire in chamber-versions creates the opportunity to hear these gems in paired down beauty and places different genres adjacent to each other, allowing the works from different eras to form a fluid narrative and theme in each conert.

Vocalist Louise Howlett is known as both a Jazz and a Classical singer, having studied opera at the Royal College of Music in London. She is urrently Concert Manager of the Cape Town Concert Series and runs Midweek Sessions at Greenmarket Square Methodist Church twice a month. Her performances include the “Classics for all” Festival, “Voorkamer Fees”, “Woordfees”, Baxter Theater and many more.

Flautist Sally Minter is a Masters Degree graduate of the Royal Academy of Music in London, and has performed as soloist with every major symphony orchestra in South Africa as well as with famous overseas conductors such as  Marin Alsop and Semyon Bychkov. Having received accolades in the Croydon Concerto Festival and Orpheus Musician of the Year Competitions, Sally returned to SOuth Africa where she is in gret demand as a soloist and chamber musician. Along with Pasella presenter Lynelle Kenned, she premiered a special easter composition at the prestigious “La Motte” concert series.

Pianist Albert Combrink is known as one of the most versatile pianists in South Africa with CD’s of Tango, Jazz and Classical Symphony Orchestras to his credit. He has played in such famous venues as the Leipzig Gewandhaus and performed in Singapore during the International Tango Festival. He is a noted vocal coach, having performed with international stars such as Katherine Jenkins, Pretty Yende and Lesley Garrett.

Cellist Pieter Adriaan Stofberg studied music at the University of Cape Town under Marian Lewin.  He passed his Unisa Grade 8 with distinction and was invited to perform at the prize winners concert in Pretoria. He also received the Stephanie Grannet Memorial Prize from the South African College of Music (UCT) in 2012 and 2013. Earlier this year he passed the Trinity College of London’s Licenciate (LTCL) and currently teaches at Rondebosch Boys Prep School.  He is currently studying for his Master’s Degree in performance under Dr Anzel Gerber at the University of Stellenbosch in 2015.

The concert draws on the following repertoire:

Giuseppe Raboni (1800-1856) – Flute Sonata #13 & #19

Giacomo Puccini (1858-1924) – O mio babbino caro

Gaetano Donizetti (1797-1848) – Come Paride

Gaetano Donizetti (1797-1848) – Flute Sonata
