Noluvuyiso Mpofu (Soprano)
Noluvuyiso Mpofu (23) was born in Port Elizabeth and became interested in opera while at high school. Graduating with a PGDiploma in 2013, she is entering her 2nd year as postgraduate student at UCT’s South African College of Music, studying with Patrick Tikolo and Kamal Khan. The final rehearsal of the full ensemble for Opera in a Convent Garden, which also had visitors from IkamvaYouth SA, hosted by the girls of Springfield Convent School. A great opportunity for the young people to see a professional rehearsal in full operation – stops and starts and all – a chance to make new friends, great expereince for the Springfield Schoolgirls, and an audience, to up the pressure of our final rehearsal a few notches.
