The hugely popular Cape Town Tango Ensemble was established by the classical accordionist Stanislav Angelov in 1996. The inspiration for this was the music of Astor Piazzolla – a great Argentinean composer of 20th century and a bandoneón virtuoso. Since 1996, besides studying the music and, importantly, the interpretation style of Astor Piazzolla, the interest of this group of musicians evolved and grew to include all styles of Tango music. They have released 3 CDs : “El Tango en Africa”, “Tango Club”  and “Tango Dreams”, which are regularly played on Classic FM in Johannesburg and Fine Music Radio in Cape Town as well as many other radio stations in South Africa and abroad.
