Two mini concert sessions of classical and jazz side by side on one night under one roof @ the Church on Greenmarket Square.
30 July 2014
19:30 and 20.45
R60 – R100
Tickets available from Webtickets and at the door.
R60 per session or R100 for both (pensioners and student discounts at the door)
19.30 – 20.30 – Our classical session features cellist Rosamund Eliza vd Westhuizen performing unaccompanied suites by Bach and Prokofiev interspersed by arias sung by soprano Louise Howlett accompanied by Albert Combrink.
20.45 – 21.45 – There is a change of artist for the jazz session as Just Friends Trio are unable to join this time, so due to recent requests we have bassist Graham Strickland joining Albert Combrink on keys and Louise Howlett (vocals) for highlights from ‘Lady Sings the Blues’ – a programme of torch songs from the era of Billy Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan and more.
Great coffee and refreshments are available at Heaven Coffee at the venue, or why not combine a session with supper and drinks from one of restaurants on the square.
Why not enjoy a supper on Greenmarket Square – Inn on the Square and Bellini are two excellent options – before or after your session of choice, or enjoy both sessions with some great coffee and cupcakes from Heaven at the Church during the break.
Doors at the Church on Greenmarket Square
