Midweek Sessions at the Church on Greenmarket Square presenter Louise Howlett brings together 5 friends who are now leaving South Africa to pursue their careers and studies and dreams overseas.
Tenor Thomas Erlank is going to the UK, flautist Myles Roberts is going to Italy, organist Roshan Chakane is going to USA, and clarinettist Carla van der Merwe and violinist David Bester are going to Belgium. This concert is a farewell and fundraising initiative where the friends will perform their favourite works for us to remember them by – until we meet again. As always they will be accompanied by Albert Combrink and Louise will join for some arias.
Tickets available at the door – all proceeds go to these rising stars who need every cent they can muster – donations are also welcome.
The Church is situated on the corner of Greenmarket Square where plenty of well lit parking is available right outside on the square itself. The Church is also surrounded by restaurants and bars such as Haiku/Bukara, Inn on the Square and Bellini’s Italian. Coffee and cupcakes are on sale in the church to enjoy during the concert.
Don’t miss the chance to hear these wonderful musicians – who knows when we will all meet again!
