The 8th offering of the annual "Opera in a Convent Garden" takes to the boards on Sunday 6th February 2011 in the Springfield Gardens, St Johns Road, Wynberg. 5.30 pm. Our stars this year are Zanne Stapelberg, Aubrey Lodewyk and Violina Anguelov with Albert Combrink and Jane Theron.
Albert Combrink, Stanislav Angelov and Jacek Domagala performed Piazzolla's "Libertango" in a concert at the amphitheater of Cape Town's Victoria & Albert Waterfront in December 2007. A fan caught part of the improvised section near the end, on a cellphone.
El Tango En Africa mixes African rhythm and percussion instruments with the Latin American Tango. Guest artists are Dizu Plaatjies (African Instruments) and Violina Anguelov (Mezzo Soprano). The CD can be bought at www.CDBaby.com
