Composer and Bassist Charles Lazar

Charles Lazar (Double Bass) was born in Cape Town and studied music at UCT and Berklee College of Music in Boston USA. He performs and has recorded with many local and visiting jazz artistes. He is also a member of the group “Tribe” for which he also composes some of their music. Since joining the Cape Town Tango Ensemble, Charles has composed and arranged a few Tangos for this group too.
