J’ADORE LE VIOLON

Petrus de Beer, one of South Africa’s foremost violinists performed J’adore le Violon as part of La Motte’s Bastille Festival celebrations. Partnered by Albert Combrink, they explored the stories of love and passion often associated with the French Violin music of Faure, Debussy, Ravel and more.
Petrus is a freelance musician in various combinations and styles, ranging from Classical, Blues and Jazz. He is a highly sought after chamber musician and also plays regularly for the Cape and teaches both violin and viola at the University of Stellenbosch as well as a number of local schools. He is also a member of the Cape Town Tango Ensemble.
Albert Combrink is regarded as one of the most versatile pianists in the country. From solo recitals to chamber performances across the styles of classical, opera and jazz he is known for his unique programming and story telling connectivity and collaborates with many of the top musicians and singers in Cape Town. Albert is a founding member of the Cape Town Tango Ensemble and is also very involved with creating opportunities for emerging artists and assisting them with the transition from tertiary education through to an international career.
