Celebrating Mozart’s birthday, the Trio de Musique will be performing 2 of his piano trios; the G major K.496, composed in 1786 (the same year his opera “Le Nozze di Figaro premiered in May) and the C major K.542, composed in 1788 (the same year he was working on his last 3 symphonies, the “Jupiter” symphony being among them). The trio will give historical background to the music, discuss the music as well as reading letters from the Mozart family as the afternoon’s program progresses.

Albert Combrink2018-08-14T05:06:39+02:00Baritone Luthando Qave will be in Cape Town for a one night only concert of opera favourites on Saturday 8 September, at 19.15 in Erin Hall, Rondebosch.Luthando recently finished the last season of Barber of Seville with the Danish National Opera, and returns to Europe in September for a new production with Kungliga Opera before singing Silvio in I Pagliacci for Gothenburg Opera.
