In a Mozart celebration, Trio de Musique will perform two piano trios; the G major K.496, composed in 1786 – the same year as Mozart’s opera “Le Nozze di Figaro”, and the C major K.542, composed in 1788 – the same year he was working on his last three symphonies, including the “Jupiter”. The trio will give historical background to the music, discuss the music as well as read letters from the Mozart family as the program progresses.

Beethoven wrote the two piano trios of Op. 70 in Vienna in 1808, the year during which he also completed the Fifth Symphony and composed the Sixth Symphony and Choral Fantasy. The trios are dedicated to the Countess Marie Erdödy, in whose house he was living when he composed them; they were first performed there in December 1808 and were published together the next year. Trio de Musique presents: “It Takes Three To Tango” – SuidOosterFees, Artscape 2019

Trio de Musique presented a Tango Programme at the 2019 SuidOosterFees. The programme included traditional tango favourites by Gardel and Piazzolla, to more serious classical tangos.

Audiiences were invited to consider the meanings of dance as a metaphor for relating to the world around us, and songs by Afrikaans artists and more well-known balads by Celine Dion and Barbra Streisand were given a Classical- and Tango makeover. A new tango by myself was also premiered at the Festival.
