The Montagu Nature Gardens will once again be the setting for a relaxing and entertaining sundowner concert hosted by the Montagu Music Society on Saturday 1 February 2020.

“Blues in the Night on Broadway” will feature some sultry blues, some sexy jazz, some hits from Broadway and West End musicals, and maybe even an opera aria or two.

Four of Cape Town’s most sought-after performers will headline the show, which starts at 17h30 for 18h00.

Pianist Christopher Duigan Hosts the Franschhoek Classic Music Festival

Kicking things off is Grand Soiree at 6.30 pm for 7 pm on Satuday, 26 October. Songstress Louise Howlett brings her ‘Blues in the Night’ programme to Bistro Bon Bon with pianist Albert Combrink and Charl Clayton on saxophone. Tickets are R500, which includes a three-course meal.

In a Mozart celebration, Trio de Musique will perform two piano trios; the G major K.496, composed in 1786 – the same year as Mozart’s opera “Le Nozze di Figaro”, and the C major K.542, composed in 1788 – the same year he was working on his last three symphonies, including the “Jupiter”. The trio will give historical background to the music, discuss the music as well as read letters from the Mozart family as the program progresses.
